The HKSAR Government has recently implemented a new legislation to control the use, manufacture, import and export of a list of highly persistent, non-pesticides, organic pollutants. Users are required to apply for an activity-based permit from the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) if they need to use the scheduled materials covered under the Hazardous Chemical Control Ordinance.
